2018 Kia Optima Safety
With more than 50% Advanced High Strength Steel, the 2018 Optima was built to protect. Furthering occupant safety are features like the suite of advanced airbags, the three-point safety belts, and advanced safety technologies like the Traction Control System (TCS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD), the Antilock Braking System (ABS), the Brake Assist System (BAS), and the Tire-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
Blind Spot Detection (BSD) and Lane Change Assist (LCA) are standard on the 2018 Kia Optima, but not available on the competing 2017 Honda Accord and not standard on the 2018 Toyota Camry. More standard safety features include the Rear Camera Display, Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and the Rear Parking Assist System (RPAS). Other advanced safety features that are available for the Optima include Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Advanced Smart Cruise Control (ASCC), the Forward Collision Warning System, and the Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS).
