Ever since it burst onto the scene, the Kia Telluride has been impressing both critics and the everyday driver. From winning awards for its well-appointed interior to its outstanding safety ratings, you can’t go wrong with the Telluride.

The 2023 Kia Telluride is available at six trim levels: LX, S, EX, X-Line, X-Pro, and SX.

What’s new?

New for 2023 are two new Telluride trims: X-Line and X-Pro. These new options offer improved capability as well as updated style. Between the two, you’ll find improved approach and departure angles, higher ground clearance, a special tow mode, an upgraded Traction Control System, and an increased towing capacity.

Across the lineup, the 2023 Telluride also now offers three new exterior colors: Dawning Red, Midnight Lake Blue, and Jungle Wood Green. Additional updates include a newly standard Wi-Fi hotspot, a larger multi-color head-up display, newly available 12.3-inch dual panoramic display screens, and an optional digital key that is compatible with Apple Watch, iPhone, and Samsung Galaxy smartphones.

Exterior

Along with those exciting new colors, the latest Telluride also received some minor updates to its exterior. Up front are revised vertical LED headlamps and a new grille. As you move to the back, you’ll see a revised lower door garnish and side sills, new wheel designs for each trim, and updated tail lamps.

The new X-Line trim comes with exclusive exterior details like 20-inch wheels, body-color door handles, bridge-type roof rails, and a unique radiator grille design. Meanwhile, the X-Pro is focused on the off-road aspect with its 18-inch black wheels and 18-inch all-terrain Continental tires. Both models have “X-Line” and “X-Pro” badging.

Performance

Because the Telluride already offered quite a bit of power, most of the powertrain components remain unchanged for 2023. Under the hood is a hearty 3.8-liter V6 engine that delivers 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. That amounts to a maximum towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds; this increases to 5,500 pounds on the X-Pro trim.

In addition to power, the 2023 Telluride also offers stability. The available self-leveling rear suspension makes for the smoothest ride possible by automatically calibrating ride height. All models, however, come with four standard drive modes: Smart, Eco, Sport, and Comfort. When you opt for an all-wheel drive Telluride, you’ll add both Snow and AWD Lock for added traction on certain conditions.

Interior

The well-appointed interior of the 2023 Kia Telluride also received a new look. The interior has a redesigned dashboard with revised trim panels and HVAC vents. You’ll also find a redesigned steering wheel and new interior color packages available. With its class-leading roominess, the Telluride has enough space for up to eight people and — with the rear seats folded down — offers up to 87 cubic feet of total cargo room.

The upscale interior is also incredibly comfortable, thanks to available Nappa leather seating materials, available heated and ventilated first- and second-row seats, and a QuietZone enhanced cabin. This results in an ultimately serene experience, no matter how hectic life gets. To top it all off, you’ll appreciate the available Open Skies Dual Sunroofs that open up the vehicle to the wonders around you.

Technology

Advanced technology abounds with the latest Kia Telluride. As mentioned, the interior can be equipped with dual 12.3-inch displays as well as a new multi-color head-up display (HUD). You can also opt for the Full Display Mirror with HomeLink and the Smart Power Liftgate with “Auto Close” for added convenience.

The Kia Connect services add more connectivity like an in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot, Digital Key, over-the-air map and infotainment updates, stolen vehicle tracking, connected routing, remote start, and more. Carryover features from the previous model include Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, up to six USB charging ports, Driver Talk, Quiet Mode, multi-Bluetooth® connectivity, and available wireless smartphone charging.

Safety

The new Kia Telluride also features an expanded Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite. Two new standard systems have been added: Intelligent Speed Limit Assist and Forward Collision-Avoidance – Junction Turning. Since its debut, the Kia Telluride has been named an IIHS Top Safety Pick and the SUV is on the path to earning this distinction yet again, thanks to its long list of standard features.
